We’re excited to welcome Detroit producer and DJ Reggie Dokes to the 2nd annual Dunedin International Film Festival. This event will feature a talk on film composing, electronic music documentary screening, and dance party — all in a unique and impermanent artist warehouse location.
In addition to a DJ set showcasing his interstellar and soulful sound, Dokes will be giving a talk on his role as film composer for the upcoming feature length documentary, “God Said Give ‘Em Drum Machines,” produced by Washington Hill Pictures, due out Spring 2020. There will also be a full screening of the updated “Electric Roots: the Detroit Sound Project,” a previous Washington-Hill Pictures short film, which chronicled their international Techno-induced travels to South Africa, premiering at the Cannes Film Festival Court Metrage Short Film Corner and the Pan African Film Festival.
Food available from Pirata Pop Up.
Records for sale from CounterCulture Records Co.
This is a free event, but RSVP is encouraged. Donations accepted at door or in advance. Note, seats to the film screening are ticketed.
